Fashion industry professionals prepare for Premiere Vision

01/29/2015

Aimed at introducing the latest in technology and forecasting the season’s trends, year by year Premiere Vision has established its place as one of the world’s largest textile shows. The focus on business and fashion information draws business from across the world, split into six different segments when presenting their products: Yarns, Fabrics, Leather, Designs, Accessories and Manufacturing. The S/S 2016 edition is taking place February 10 to 12, 2015.

Around 63,000 industry professionals from 120 countries will gather during the three days of the event to check out the latest from over 1900 companies from 300 different countries. Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil) is supporting the Capim Puro, Cataguases, Savyon, Moltec, Britannia and Werner brands at the show.

To stand out during the event, the Brazilian companies are preparing to show the most innovative products in their lines. Rebecca Veloso, of Brittania, believes that exhibiting at the show is a huge step towards acceptance in the international market, since all of the brands are judged by a panel that has to approve their products. “Our woven items are very popular in the Nordic countries and we see our weaves in fashion shows there. I have new visual perceptions for the weaves and ribbons that we make in this collection,” she says.

In addition to new products for the S/S 2016 collection, bringing products made just for the trade show is a strategy that garners good results. “We are aware that participating in international trade shows is an approach that requires perseverance. We will show the S/S 2016 collection with around 400 designs. Out of these, half were specially developed for Europe, exploring some Brazilian themes,” says Alexandra Ward, textile designer at Capim Puro.

Prospecting new customers and growing market are major advantages to showing at showrooms like Premiere Vision. According to Laurent Prout, of Savyon, a manufacturer of circular knit fabrics, participating in international trade shows is the best way to find new customers. Agostinho Bernardo, of Werner, shares this point of view. “We are returning to a process of internationalizing our brand and by participating in the event, we can see new companies and grow relations with the customers we are already in contact with,” he says.

Aware of the power that it has to gather producers of supplies that most of the fashion industry will use in the future in just one place, Premiere Vision provides a report after the end of each edition containing the top trends found during the event and innovations introduced by the participating companies.
