Find out about the Brazilian label that NY loves

All eyes were on a Brazilian label at the latest edition of CurveNY, a major trade show in the underwear and swimwear segment. Right at the entrance, IntensifyMe was seen on a two meter long banner. It was chosen from among the event’s favorites and included on the cover of the showroom’s publication while also receiving a mention as a trendy brand in presentations to buyers. The person responsible for this achievement is Priscila Gomide, who started making casual clothing mixing lace, transparency and deep necklines seven years ago.

The idea grew towards something more sensual and, early last year, the designer launched a new concept: middlewear, lingerie that can and should be seen. The market’s acceptance was great, giving rise to IntensifyMe.”The goal is to use the underwear in many ways. We took advantage of know-how in lingerie pattern-making to create a sensual, comfortable and very versatile garment,” she explains.

And it is precisely this innovative feature in design and materials that has caused the company to grow swiftly; in Brazil it is now sold at the TwinSet, Paradoxus, Carolina Faggion, Tigresse and Maison Antoinette stores. A new campaign was recently launched, using sporty and bold language for a more urban product line. “The collection grew and we enhanced production. These garments are not only beautiful, they are functional and comfortable,” she says.

IntensifyMe is also promising in the international market and, having joined Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, promoted by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil), it received support not only in NY, but also presented a collection in Paris.”These events have provided a lot of exposure. Before,we had few exports; today, we have more than ten clients. Although our label is still small, this growth is encouraging,” she says. On the international market, the labels products can be found at the Farfetch and StyleMarket online stores as well as at high-end lingerie shops in Europe and the United States. And plans to export are continuing with constant support from the Program.
