Launch of Brasil Beyond concept in the fashion world gathers fashionistas

Under the theme of Fashion Beyond Summer, Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), ABEST (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association, through its Texbrasil Internationalization Program) promoted an event at Soho Beach House, in Miami, last Friday (July 18) to launch the Brasil Beyond concept in the fashion industry: Fashion Beyond Summer.

The cocktail hours was followed by a dinner, gathering 120 opinion makers, buyers and members of the press. The goal is to show that Brazilian fashion goes beyond expectations and is inspired by art and music, representing the plural culture of a continental country: artist Ricardo Castro paid homage to the Brazilian DNA by calling on guests to assemble a panel of collages together, while Brazilian band Saulo Duarte e a Unidade put on a show with the best mix of Brazilian rhythms.

Among those in attendance were designers including Cecilia Prado, Adriana Degreas and Brigitte’s Fernanda Maia, in addition to representatives from the Blue Man, Despi, Feriado Nacional, Guria and 2Rios brands, among others. The VIP list also included photographer Iran Issa Khan, socialite Criselda Breene and Bergdorf Goodman buyer Aisha Bennett.

The team of opinion makers included Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman, who run A Bikini A Day, a blog specializing in beachwear.They confessed that they think Brazilian bikinis are the most beautiful in the world.”I love the prints, the appliqués, the colors. And also the relationship between Brazilian women and the bikini. In no other country is this item as associated with the lifestyle,” said Natasha. Among journalists were the Associate Fashion Market Editor of Elle USA, Shilpa Nadella, and journalists from media channels such as the Miami Herald and the CBS network.

The cocktail kicked off the opening of a Brazilian beachwear pop-up store with 16 designers that is open until July 21. Taking part in brand sales are: 02Rios Lingerie, Adriana Degreas, ANK Swimwear, Blue Man, Brigitte by Fernanda Maia, Cecilia Prado Mare, Desiree Nercessian, Despi, Guria Beachwear, Lemons & Limes, Lenny Niemeyer, Lisa Riedt, Loer Beachwear, Sauipe Swimwear, Sinesia Karol and Sol & Energia.

Brasil Beyond guides all of Apex-Brasil’s promotional and investment raising initiatives. The concept communicates a country beyond the stereotypes, expectations and values that the world already knows. Fashion Beyond Summer is aimed at showing Brazilian fashion beyond the beauty and the stunning beaches.
