05/28/2018

From May 25 to June 17, the city of Paris will welcome the “Paris de Janeiro” pop-up store, with 10 design and product brands from Rio de Janeiro. The pop-up store launch event took place on Thursday (May 25) in the French capital, with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The pop-up store features creations from the AnnaKa, Barbarah, Bossa Social, EMI Beachwear, Helena Pontes, Manu, Marju, Nidas, TaiDai and Zsolt brands and is supported by the Fashion Coordination Office at Sebrae/RJ. Parisians checking out the pop-up store will have the chance to buy Brazilian bikinis with biodegradable fabrics, hats, bags and accessories that represent the sophisticated Carioca lifestyle

All of the brands participating in the initiative are part of Carandaí 25, a collective aimed at leveraging small fashion producers that have unique designs. This group has been supported by Sebrae/RJ since 2017, and among the group are apparel brands that are Texbrasil Program members.

According to Lilian Kaddissi, Executive Manager for Texbrasil, taking part in Paris de Janeiro is a great opportunity for brands to get in touch with the end consumer in Paris: “We also hope to prospect business in this market, which is one of the world’s most important fashion markets, especially to begin working with the brands’ international image,” she explains. The space will also include a bistro with food related to Brazilian culture. A partnership with the Granado cosmetics brand will also make manicurists available to provide the French with Brazilian-style manicures.
