Project Womens’ digital edition generates USD 170,000 in business for two Brazilian brands

11/26/2020

The first digital edition of Project Womens took place between September and November in digital form. Through the NuOrder platform, participants of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Exports and Investments Promotion Agency) – closed USD 170 thousand in deals.

The brands Tuart and Equilibrium Activewear joined Texbrasil in 2020, and its participation in the Project Womens was the first action in the Program. This was also the first digital edition of the tradeshow, which usually takes place in Las Vegas, USA.

According to Equilibrium’s sales executive, Tatyane Martins, the event was a learning experience for everyone. “It was a new experience for us and for many,” she comments. Still, she sees online as an opportunity to do new business: “The digital event opened many doors for buyers who would not have been able to visit the tradeshow otherwise,” she believes.

Presenting the Spring/Summer and Autumn collection, the brand attended the event to expand its presence in the international market. And, even with the pandemic, Equilibrium sees these events as a great way to do business. “Buyers need to see the brand, know the product, and feel safe in what they are buying,” she adds.

With no date scheduled for 2021, Project Womens happened at the same time as Coterie and Children’s Club.
