RenauxView and Istituto di Moda Burgo Brasil develop collection in partnership
Istituto di Moda Burgo Brasil (IMB), in Brusque, Santa Catarina, has prepared a S/S 2017 collection in partnership with RenauxView, a company that is a member of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). Headquartered in Milan, Italy, the IMB is one of the most traditional fashion schools in Europe, with over 50 years of history, having opened its first branch in Brazil in 2015.
Daniela Colzani, a fashion designer and director of IMB Brasil, explains that the Institute and RenauxView have had a partnership for some time now. “Nevertheless, this is the first collection of prints and fabrics developed exclusively for IMB Brasil,” she says. The collection was created based on the Psycho Tropics macrotrend featured by French style bureau NellyRodi. The theme of “Metamorphosis” suggests a transformation from one form to another. The story takes place in constantly changing urban jungle, allowing for a fantastical trip to tropical lands, where the foreign becomes lush.
In the fabrics, this transformation is manifested through organic patterns and exaggerated graphics. The colors are extremely vivid, mixed with black and white and applied using digital prints on flowing fabrics, such as “Vican” and “Naory,” found in the RenauxView portfolio. All of the contrast between the main elements gives them a light and captivating feel, lending authenticity to S/S 2017.
