Texbrasil brings nine international buyers and journalists to Minas Trend

From April 17 to 20, the city of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, is hosting the F/W edition of the Minas Trend fashion trade show, held by the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais (FIEMG). At the invitation of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, the result of a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – a group of international journalists will be coming to Brazil to take a attend the fashion shows and also learn more about the region’s brands and textile factories.

Sara Weyers, of Germany’s Superior Magazine; Silvana Nicola, of Uruguayan newspaper El País; Carolina Birgin, of Argentina’s La Nación; and Luz Lancheros, of Colombia’s Publimetro, are the journalists confirmed to attend. While buyers include Ademir Azevedo, from Dot Store of Argentina; Guido Melo, from Melko of Australia; Maria Fernanda Perez, from Priscila Lab of Colombia; Naouel Brahmi, from Sarl Wedding Queen of France; and Victoria Grey, from Mariko of Australia.

The event’s lineup for this year includes two days of fashion shows, on April 17 and 18.

Journalists and buyers will watch as brands make their premieres on the event’s runway, including Skazi, a Program member.

According to Lilian Kaddissi, Executive Manager at Texbrasil, supporting Minas Trend is a tradition and is also strategic. “Minas Trend is a very significant event when it comes to reinforcing the image of Brazilian fashion among the press as well as to closing international deals,” she says.

In addition to visiting the trade show and fashion shows, the group’s agenda also includes the opening ceremony, to be held April 16; a press conference from Fiemg and Texbrasil representatives on the 17; and visits to the GIG Couture factory, the Patricia Bonaldi concept store and  Ronaldo Fraga’s Grande Hotel on the 19.
