The Program Texbrasil (Program for the Internationalization of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) — carried out through a partnership between ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) — was in evidence during the last Abit International Congress, which took place at the beginning of November, on the 8th and 9th. During the event, Mariele Christ, from ApexBrasil, spoke on one of the panels and spoke about the importance of the project.

Mariele composed the panel with the theme “The importance of Public-Private Partnerships”. During her participation in the debate, she explained how Texbrasil puts companies in the textile industry, even those that are not large, on the right path for export.

“Texbrasil is a bridge that connects companies to buyers around the world and today there are 388 supported companies that represent 57% of the industry’s exports. It’s a myth to think that exports are only for the big guys. We have several small and micro-enterprises within the Program”, she emphasized.

The executive showed the results of 20 years of the program, with more than 1,900 companies already served, around USD 10.5 billion in exported products, 504 international fairs that generated USD 460 million in business, acting on pillars such as bed, table and bath, textile, clothing and TTNT.

After presenting the numbers generated by the project, she also presented Texbrasil’s services to the companies present at the Congress. “We are available, through Texbrasil, to companies, of any size, that wish to export, training them and bringing them closer to the target markets of each pillar”, she concluded.
