Texbrasil member brands celebrate by launching Carnaval capsule collections

Rio de Janeiro-based labels Farm and Cantao launched special collections for Carnaval 2018. The member companies of Texbrasil (The Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) – a partnership between Abit and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) – are trying to appeal to young people who want to party in the Carnaval street blocos in style.

Farm has launched Carnaval-themed lines for a few years now. This year’s capsule collection features 12 costumes, in addition to adorned tiaras and holographic fanny packs. Among looks on sale are dinosaurs, drum majorettes and peacocks, in addition to transparency-filled body suits.

While Cantao has turned one of its classic products from the ’80s – a jeans and suede backpack with the original lightning-shaped logo – into a fanny pack that can be used around the waist or as a crossbody bag. In addition to the indispensable accessory for joining the fun of street blocos, the collection also features jumpsuits, flip-flops and headbands. Prints include parrots, the goddess Yemoja and florals.
