19 Brazilian brands will attend Who’s Next
Nineteen Brazilian brands have arrived in Paris to take part in Who’s Next, the traditional casualwear show taking place September 4 to 7.CYN, Gralias, HELOROCHA, Ju Guimaraes, Karin Feller, Liziane Richter, Maria Pavan, Patricia Bonaldi, T. Arrigoni and Tigresse have confirmed that they will be at the event with the support of Texbrasil, Abit’s Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program. Bloom, Caleidoscopio, Cecilia Prado, Ira Salles, Lenny Niemeyer, Loer, Osklen and Vert Shoes are the ABEST members that will be at the event with the support of Fashion Label Brasil. Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) is a major partner in both initiatives.
“France has a traditional market in the international fashion industry, hosting some of the industry’s biggest shows. It is extremely important that Brazilian brands be placed within this context, and that is why Texbrasil supports and fosters this kind of action,” says Rafael Cervone, CEO of ABIT.
“Who’s Next takes place twice annually and for the last 20 years it has gathered the biggest brands from all over the world to show their latest products to major players in the market. We had four brands at the last edition in January, and this time we were able to double that number. Our goal is guarantee more and more relevant exposure at events of this kind, aimed at strengthening the image of our fashion,” says Roberto Davidowicz, President of ABEST.
Alfredo Mascarenhas, an international consultant for HELOROCHA, shared that the brand will show its collection from the last SPFW at this edition, along with some lifestyle pieces. “We have made some pieces that can serve multiple requests from international buyers. This time, we want to build loyalty with buyers from the U.S.A. and Europe that already work with us and expand our international portfolio,” says Mascarenhas.
This is the fifth time at the show for Gralias, a participant in Btobe, the Texbrasil talent incubator. Designer Julia Guglielmetti sees attendance at so many editions as increasing the brand’s reliability among international buyers. “Our goal is to open new markets and grow the number of orders. We are bringing our S/S 2016 collection, with lots of prints, textures and embroidery, in pieces that convey the DNA of our brand in a commercial way,” she says. “We are a brand that began exporting even before having collections geared towards the domestic market, which is why we create universal cuts that easily fit different bodies,” she adds.
Because this is her first time at an international show, designer Ju Guimaraes, and her eponymous brand, have high expectations. “We are aware of the high bar of competition and quality that we will find, and that is why we prepared a lot with internationalization in mind. We would only take on a challenge like this if we were feeling confident. At this show, we hope to gain lots of contacts with potential customers and close a great deal of sales after the event,” she says in closing.
