From May 8 to 12, the 2Rios, Capricornio Textil, Maria Pavan, Marisol, Tecelagem Panamericana, Tremembe and Vicunha Textil companies are taking part in the Innovation Benchmarking Mission to Germany, an Abit initiative through the Texbrasil Program, in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The initiative is aimed at bringing industry executives to the 19th Techtextil Symposium, being held during the world’s most important technical and technological textiles trade show, as well as the Texprocess event, a leader in technology for textile processes, accessories and services in the industry. The events are being held in parallel in the city of Frankfurt from May 9 to 12.

For Matheus Fagundes, president of 2Rios, the textile industry’s search for innovation is fundamental, from processes to technology in new materials. “We are very enthusiastic to join the mission; we will have a week with a busy schedule that will surely be very productive when looking to the future of the industry. Without question, the mission will bring us closer to new technologies and especially to new partners in order to continue innovation projects at 2Rios Lingerie in Brazil and around the world,” says Matheus. Carlos Figur, of the engineering department at Marisol, also hopes to learn about new technologies in the textile area: “we expect to gain the latest knowledge in relation to new technologies, to exchange experiences and to find benchmarking. We believe that the events taking place in Germany are excellent opportunities to find this know-how,” he says.

While Maria Jose Orione, who is with the Strategic Planning area at Capricornio Textil, says that in the short term the company is most interested in integration and automation systems for textile processes. “In the medium and long term, we are interested in learning about innovations that could result in disruptions in our business and/or production processes and new business models,” she adds. The mission also includes a visit to the Institute of Textile Technology (ITA) at the University of Aachen, an international reference in materials engineering, production processes and technical textiles. The visit will take place on Monday, May 8.

During the mission, three specialists in Industry 4.0 from Senai Cetiqt will highlight the best parts of the events and discuss new technologies and the biggest innovations presented. Fernando Pimentel, the president of Abit, will give a presentation on Industry 4.0 on a panel organized by the IAF during Texprocess, on the morning of May 9.
