Brazilians labels estimate USD 2 million in business following Expotextil Peru
Four Brazilian companies took part in Expotextil Peru 2017, one of the biggest textile industry shows in Latin America, held in the city of Lima from October 18 to 21. Dalila Têxtil, Expor Manequins, Santaconstancia and Soutex Têxtil attended the show with the support of Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), the result of a partnership between Abit and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), returning to Brazil with excellent outlooks for exports.
Together, they did USD 151,000 in business during the event, with estimated sales of USD 1.8 million expected over the next 12 months. According to Thaisa Sacht, from the Import/Export Department at Dalila Textil, participating in Expotextil Peru was very important for the knitwear maker. Although this is the brand’s second time at the show, the company received visits from many new customers with huge potential. “We were happy with the results, especially with our stronger commercial representation in the country, where we have a representative directly serving our customers,” she said.
Neverli Soares, of Soutex Textil, was also happy with the results of the show: “we made good contacts with countries such as Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile. We also intend to participate in the event in 2018,” Soares commented. In addition to fabric manufacturers, Expotextil Peru also welcomes producers of machinery, leather, chemicals, software and accessories every year.
