Karsten expands production and announces new industrial park
The home textiles brand Karsten, which is part of Texbrasil (Program for the Internationalization of the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry) — the result of a partnership between Abit (Brazilian Association of the Textile and Apparel Industry) and Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency) — announced a new industrial park in Brazil.
Scheduled to open in August, the unit will be located in Ibirama, in the state of Santa Catarina, and will produce bed sets. The plant acquired by Karsten has already served as a factory for another major Brazilian clothing brand, Hope, and has 4.8 thousand square meters of built-up area.
According to the manager of talent management at Karsten, Patrícia Conradt Diniz, the projection is to generate 130 jobs, 100 of which are direct and 30 are indirect.
The mayor of Ibirama, Adriano Poffo, celebrated the company’s arrival in the city. “Our city is proud to receive one of the main textile companies in Brazil and in the world, which will enable the expansion of jobs and the development of our economy”.
