Minas Trend: international guests get to know Brazilian fashion
The 21st edition of Minas Trend, one of the main fashion business weeks in the country, ended last October 06th. Held in Belo Horizonte (MG), the event welcomed a group of six international purchasers and three journalists invited by Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program), the result of a partnership between Abit and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
During this last edition that closed the celebrations to commemorate Minas Trend’s 10th-year anniversary, which had started in the previous season, in April, the 11 brands affiliated to Texbrasil that took part in the event – and among them Apartamento 03, Fabiana Milazzo, Helorocha, Liziane Richter, Lucas Magalhães, Maria Pavan, PatBo, Patricia Bonaldi, T. Arrigoni, Verde Limão Moda Praia and Victor Dzenk – closed business deals amounting to US$ 365 thousand with international guests, with sales expectations of another US$ 535 thousand in the next 12 months.
Purchaser Helen Saenz, from the American chain of stores Alice Becker Store, told us she thought the event was very well organized, and said it was an honor to take part in the Purchaser Project. “It has been very interesting to learn how to do business in Brazil. I would like to thank you very much for the invitation and I am taking beautiful products to the US”, she claimed. As for purchasers Laurencio Adot and Thiago Azevedo, from the Argentinean chain of stores Laurencio Adot, they confided that: “We discover new brands in every edition”.
Guest Alexey Oleshov, from the Australian chain of stores Timaginarium, also shared his opinion with us: “Brazil is growing and it is wonderful to follow this evolution”, he said. Nichi Kashihara, from Madame Killer (United States) and Joseph Vatekov, from Pais Store (United States), in addition to journalists Maria Braun, from Paula Magazine (Chile), Ayda María Martínez Ipúz, from newspaper El Tiempo (Colombia), and Lívia Nottoli, from WGSN (UK), completed the group of guests invited to attend the fair.
Created in 2008, Minas Trend is considered one of the most important product launch platforms for the apparel, footwear/bags, jewelry/bijouterie and accessories segments in South America. The event differentiates itself by uniting business and fashion activities in a unique environment, and its programming includes fashion shows, exhibitions and lectures.
