Ponto Zero showcase brings young designers to London and Paris
In July of this year, the Ponto Zero Showcase will bring young designers to London and Paris to show their collections. This project is developed by Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Export Program), a Program developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), along with Mercado Mundo Mix and Casa de Criadores. It serves as an incubator for developing and training new talent in fashion and fashion design. Helen Rödel, Der Metropol, Gralias, Cynthia Hayashi, Trendt, Karin Feller, Gabriela Sakate and Spirodiro will take part in the action.
Activities will start on July 3, when the project brands will arrive in London to take part in a collective showroom at the Brazilian Embassy in the British capital. The event is geared towards international buyers and the press. The following day, the participants will show their summer 2014 collections at mixed event with a cocktail, exhibit and show by Brazilian electronic music group Tetine. This event is being held for the opening of The Laundry, a space housing a bar, art gallery, restaurant and studio, owned by Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien.
Finally, on July 6 to 9, the young Ponto Zero Showcase designers will, for the first time, take part in Who’s Next Paris – Summer 2014, one of the most important ready to wear fairs in Europe. This initiative is aimed at creating long-term relationships between the project brands and some of the top international buyers. Read the article.
