Spirituality is the theme of the S/S collection by Apartamento 03

Apartamento 03’s S/S 2016 collection is, at its core, a manifesto of religious tolerance. Luiz Claudio, the brand’s designer, showed at Sao Paulo Fashion Week for the second time, exploring the spirituality of Brazilian society with non-literal references, through de-construction of prints, colors, shapes and layers.

While it is at the same time possible to see direct references to religious objects and dances, spirituality is also represented by cleaner shapes and flowing fabrics, conveying what the designer calls the “essentials of dressing,” a simpler garment, without excesses.

Construction work in fabrics, a classic of the brand, was used in three basic ways this time. While one fabric was pleated in an effort to deconstruct a print, creating a totally different look than it initially had, neoprene was cut into strips and woven with silk fibers, creating a totally new texture. Feathers were also used in appliqués.

The color portfolio essentially moves between white, black, silver and gold, colors that are important in religious ceremonies and on alters used by Brazilian religions. Shoes were developed in partnership with the Luiza Barcelos label and come in two shapes: a low sandal and an Oxford, in the same colors as the collection.
