Texbrasil brands walk the runway at Sao Paulo Fashion Week
The F/W 2014 edition of Sao Paulo Fashion Week ends today (November 1). Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) member brands showed their collections and trends for the season. Colcci, Gloria Coelho and Patricia Motta were part of the schedule for the second to last day, along with Lino Villaventura, Pedro Lourenço and Ronaldo Fraga. Patricia made her debut at Sao Paulo Fashion Week after years of producing for Minas Trend Preview.
The shows were opened by Gloria Coelho, who showed a collection that is inspired by Pythagoras, the great Greek master of math, geometry and philosophy. Tops, jackets and dresses were matched with super tight leggings that look like tights. Dresses had very sensual plunging backs and necklines, matched with knit pullovers and leather details. Geometric cutouts are trimmed with a delicate tulle.
Minas Gerais native Patricia Motta made her debut with an extremely elaborate collection inspired by ice molecules and full of new leather techniques and treatments. The first model to walk down the runway was the beautiful Shirley Mallmann, considered the forerunner of Brazilian models abroad. While Colcci brought Parque Villa Lobos to a halt with übermodel Gisele Bündchen and Victoria’s angel Isabel Goulart. The brand showed womens and mens lines in cool colors and plaid prints.
New for the upcoming edition are: Der Metropol and Gabriela Sakate, member brands of Texbrasil’s new talent incubator, BtoBe (Brazilians to Be); they will have their first fashion shows along with major names in Brazilian fashion.
