Vicunha and Tecnoblu support debut of Another Place at NYFW
Another Place, the only Brazilian brand to show at New York Fashion Week, reached the event with the support of major national textile companies, such as Vicunha, in addition to notions from Tecnoblu and lots of technology. The brand, which began in 2015 as the dream of three people from Pernambuco to make affordable fashion, with non-standard cuts for all genders, showed on February 11 at the Fashion Gallery, a space for new creators within the event, introducing its fourth collection – “I See You.”
To tell its story, Another Place sought support from Tecnoblu to develop special tags with the brand’s logo. “Tecnoblu’s trajectory includes collaborative involvement from new creators and brands to become visible. The contemporary nature of the Another Place manifesto and its design were immediately relevant to our purposes,” says the company’s branding advisor, Simone Carsten Cunha. Internal jacquard tags, mini decorations, leather zipper pull tabs and cotton shoelaces were used in the collection. “Unusually, we also did some backs for a leather jacket using one of our embossing processes,” adds Simone.
With fabrics from Vicunha Textil, Bermuda shorts, jumpsuits, jackets and trousers gained versatility. Classic everyday denim is found in light tops and comfortable items. With an exclusive finish, Tech twill gives a trench coat and pair of Bermuda shorts in the collection a sporty touch, while Sahara denim, based on technology, assured breathability of jackets and trousers. “For Vicunha, supporting Another Place and seeing its fabrics in a new and creative collection, representing Brazil at one of the fashion world’s most relevant events, is very satisfying and reinforces our position as an international reference in jeanswear,” says the manufacturer’s marketing manager, Renata Guarneiro.
According to partners Rafael Albuquerque and Kika Pontual, the quality and variety of Vicunha’s fabrics and Tecnoblu notions were decisive for the partnership with Another Place: “The quality is undeniable, not to mention that these are ultra modern companies that are constantly updating their portfolios, which is great for helping us to create. We are always looking to deliver quality to our consumer and looking for partners that give us this,” they said. Vicunha Textil and Tecnoblu are members of Texbrasil – the Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program, developed by Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
